Rishi Educational Consultancy ("Rishi", "we", "our") respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal data we collect through our website and Rishi Telecaller Android app, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- When you submit a lead form: name, mobile, WhatsApp, email (if provided), stream of interest, level, state preferences, budget band, and message.
- For under-18 enquirers: guardian / parent contact (required).
- When you browse: page visits and basic device info, only if you accept the cookie banner.
- When authorised staff use the Rishi Telecaller Android app: staff account details, assigned lead records, call outcomes, callbacks, notes, work statistics, app version, device approval status, and basic device diagnostics.
- Call information in the Android app: with staff permission, the app reads recent call-log information only to confirm call timing and duration for lead follow-up records.
- Voice notes in the Android app: with staff permission, the app records audio only when the staff member chooses to hold the voice-note control for a call outcome.
- Notifications: the app may collect a Firebase Cloud Messaging token to send work-related alerts such as assigned leads, reminders, announcements, and follow-ups.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your counselling enquiry.
- To send admission-cycle reminders, if you opt in.
- To improve the website — aggregated only.
- To let authorised Rishi staff manage admissions leads, make follow-up calls, log outcomes, schedule callbacks, and view work statistics.
- To secure staff access through authentication, device approval, Play Integrity checks, biometric unlock where enabled, audit logs, and abuse prevention.
- To diagnose crashes, delivery failures, sync issues, and app performance problems.
How long we keep it
Lead records and associated call logs are retained for 36 months, after which they are automatically deleted. You can request deletion at any time — see "Your rights" below.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share with college admissions departments only after you explicitly authorise it (typically during application). We use the following processors: Firebase and Google Cloud (hosting, authentication, database, messaging, app integrity, crash reporting and performance diagnostics), WhatsApp (Meta), and Resend (email delivery). Core application data is stored in Google Cloud's Mumbai region (asia-south1) where supported by the service.
Android app permissions
- Internet and network access: required for sign-in, lead sync, notifications, and secure API communication.
- Notifications: used for work reminders, assigned leads, announcements, and follow-up alerts.
- Call log: requested only from staff users to attach call timing and duration to lead follow-up activity.
- Microphone: used only when a staff user records an optional voice note for a call outcome.
- Biometric unlock: used on-device to protect access to the app; Rishi does not receive fingerprint or face biometric data.
Your rights under DPDP 2023
- Access: request a copy of your data.
- Correction: ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
- Erasure: request full deletion.
- Withdraw consent: stop further contact any time.
- Grievance redressal: contact our data-protection officer below; if unresolved, escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
Request data deletion
To request deletion of website enquiry data, Android app account data, lead activity, call outcomes, voice notes, or device records associated with you, email privacy@rishiedu.com with the subject "Data deletion request". Include the mobile number or email address linked to the record so we can verify and process the request.
We delete eligible personal data after verification unless we must keep limited records for legal, security, fraud-prevention, audit, or dispute-resolution purposes. Lead records and associated call logs are otherwise retained for 36 months and then automatically deleted.
