NEET 2025 cutoffs: what Telangana students should realistically target
An honest look at state-quota cutoffs for government and private medical colleges in Telangana — plus what scores open which doors.
Why this matters
Every year, thousands of students across Telangana face this exact question when it comes to neet. The answers you find online are either too generic ("study hard!") or too pessimistic ("the cutoffs are impossible!"). Reality sits somewhere in between.
At Rishi we have guided students through every counselling round since 2018, and we have seen the patterns repeat: what actually moves the needle is (a) honest self-assessment, (b) a shortlist built around your rank and not your dreams, and (c) paperwork that is ready before the portal opens — not after.
The breakdown
Here's what we tell the families who walk into our Warangal office:
1. Understand the buckets. Government colleges under state quota, all-India quota, management seats, NRI seats — each follows different rules. Know which buckets your score opens. 2. Look at last-three-years' data, not just last year. A single year can be misleading — a drop in applicants, a new college opening up, any of these skew numbers. 3. Visit the campus if you can. Even a one-hour visit tells you things a brochure cannot. 4. Get the financial picture in writing. Total fee, hostel, mess, exam fees, lab fees. All of it. 5. Keep a backup plan. Always. No exam performance is guaranteed, no matter how confident you feel.
What Rishi does differently
We don't take commissions from colleges. That one line changes how the conversation goes. When a student's rank opens three equally-fit colleges, we compare all three on merit — not on which one pays us a referral fee.
If you want a free 30-minute call to figure out where you stand, book via our contact page. No obligation, no sales push — just a real conversation about your options.
A note to parents
We know how stressful this season is. The best thing you can do for your child right now is stop comparing them to the neighbour's kid. Every student has a distinct strengths profile. Our job at Rishi is to match that profile to the right college, not to push them into whatever is "prestigious" this year.
